Designing My Back Porch

I’ve been using the Icovia Design Edition Space Planner to layout options for my back porch. I want to use paving stones to cover what is now bare ground. This house is over 30 years old, but no owner has ever gotten around to putting a porch in this area even though the French doors open out to it. Obviously the initial intent was to make it a porch.

Creating the pattern was the most time consuming part of this process. In order to create the multi-colored look I set down a surface, set the pattern and color, and then laid another surface down on top of the existing one. You can continue to layer patterns this way to make even the most complex patterns.

Once I come up the design I like I am going to create a custom paving stone and lay them out piece by piece. That way I will have an exact count of what pieces need, what colors they are, etc.
