A very interesting post on intelligence and perception over at CosmicVariance [one of my new favorite blogs]. The discussions revolve around "real" genius' but in my experience it equally applies to software development and probably every other field as well. There are those who are seen as the top of the pyramid in terms of smarts and everyone else is either aspiring to climb higher or treading water and hoping not to slip farther down the slope.
